April 9-11 - Bodies of Dissent: TransForm conference
Bodies of Dissent: TransForm will take place on the weekend of April 9th to the 11th. TransForm will be focused on developing strategies and networks to change individuals, communities, organizations and systems. We are issuing a call to action to unite to build communities of empowerment and change.
Workshops, presentations, films and creative projects will be happening during the days, and performances both musical and theatrical will be occurring in the evenings.
Discussions at TransForm will centre around issues of medicalization and health care, trans bodies, youth, and community building. With these topics in mind, the conference will be open to health care providers, social service providers, trans community members and allies. The 2008 Bodies of Dissent: TransAccess Conference was a huge success, seeing over 200 attendees, raising awareness and building broader networks and communities.
